Bishop Mutendi endorses Amendment No. 3 Bill
Religious leader Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi has expressed support for the proposed Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill, urging national leaders to see key initiatives through to completion.
Speaking on the matter, Bishop Mutendi emphasised the importance of finishing major national assignments rather than abandoning them midway.
“Meaningful progress can only be achieved when policies and programmes are fully implemented.
Serious assignment must be finished, not adjusted halfway, not abandoned halfway. It must be finished,” he said.
The bishop noted that the church is closely following ongoing national discussions, including debates surrounding the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill.
He added that such engagements are important in shaping the country’s future.
Bishop Mutendi also highlighted that extending the Presidential term could allow leadership to focus more on long-term development goals.
According to him, reducing frequent election cycles would ease political pressure and create more room for sustained economic and infrastructure growth.
The proposed amendment has sparked debate across different sectors, with supporters arguing it promotes stability, while critics have raised concerns about governance and democratic accountability.
