The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has embraced a collaborative approach in the fight against corruption, recognising that tackling complex financial crimes often requires strong regional partnerships.

At the 2026 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), ZACC is co-exhibiting with Botswana’s Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC), highlighting the growing importance of cross-border cooperation.

This joint exhibition sends a clear message that corruption is becoming increasingly difficult to conceal, particularly as neighbouring countries strengthen collaboration and share intelligence.

By working closely with Botswana, ZACC is demonstrating that the fight against graft has expanded beyond national borders, closing loopholes that were previously exploited.

Visitors to the stand in Bulawayo were introduced to various strategies being implemented to safeguard public resources. The exhibition showcased the commission’s proactive efforts, moving beyond traditional monitoring to more dynamic and results-driven approaches.

One of the key highlights attracting attention is the focus on asset recovery and the use of modern technology. Investigations have evolved significantly, shifting from reliance on manual records to advanced digital tracking systems.

ZACC officials also took time to educate the public on identifying corrupt practices, emphasising how technology now plays a critical role in detecting and preventing financial crimes.

For attendees at ZITF, the ZACC stand offers valuable insights into how authorities are strengthening accountability and protecting national resources.

It provides a unique opportunity for citizens and business leaders to understand how stolen assets are traced and recovered, as well as how digital tools are enhancing transparency.

Through this partnership, ZACC and DCEC are reinforcing the message that corruption has fewer places to hide, as regional cooperation continues to tighten the net against illicit activities.
