14 dead in Harare-Nyamapanda road horror

Fourteen people died this yesterday when a Malawi-bound luxury coach overturned at the 176-kilometre peg along the Harare-Nyamapanda road near Suswe, police have confirmed.
The BRD Luxury Coach bus, coming from Cape Town, South Africa, crashed at around 1300 hours.
National Police Spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said initial investigations indicated a heavy toll.
“Initial police attended at the scene indicated that 14 people died,” Commissioner Nyathi said.
He added: “The bus was carrying 63 passengers and some of the injured victims were taken to Mutoko District Hospital and Kotwa District Hospital.”
Emergency teams remain on site. The cause of the accident is not yet known.
“More details will be released in due course,” Nyathi said.
