According to preliminary reports, a powerful wave struck the vessel, causing water to flood the engine compartment about one kilometre from Andorra Harbour. All passengers managed to swim to the shore and escaped unharmed.
Authorities have warned travellers to exercise caution, noting that Kariba’s waters can become extremely unpredictable during stormy weather.
