Popular Mutare businessman and social media influencer Blessing Togarepi says Aisha Chihota’s family has failed to refund the US$3,500 lobola payment as ordered by Chief Mutasa’s traditional court.
Togarepi paid US$3,500 in lobola towards his intended marriage to Chihota. However, the two reportedly never lived together, and the marriage was allegedly never consummated.
Following the dispute, the matter was brought before Chief Mutasa’s traditional court, which ruled in Togarepi’s favour and directed Chihota’s family to return the full lobola amount.
The refund was reportedly due by August 31, 2026.
However, Togarepi has now claimed that the family has refused to comply with the ruling, prompting him to make the matter public.
The businessman has used social media to raise concerns over the alleged failure by Chihota’s family to honour the traditional court’s decision.
