A former corporate manager will face a spectacular double day of reckoning on 1 July 2026, when he stands trial in two separate cases at the Harare Magistrates Courts.
One for allegedly embezzling nearly USD 11 000 and another for the brutal abduction and torture of a key witness.
Simbarashe Emmanuel Martin Rondozai (38) is accused of stealing USD 10 811 from a trust fund held by Wellcash Debt Collectors, where he served as manager.
Company representative Cephas Shingirayi Ngorima confirmed none of the stolen funds have been recovered.

But the theft case pales compared to the chilling allegations in the second trial.
In May 2025, when Real Star Security launched an investigation into Rondozai’s dealings, the ex-manager allegedly plotted to silence his former subordinate, David Matanda (35).
The state alleges Rondozai and four accomplices tracked Matanda to his Zengeza, Chitungwiza home at 2100 hours.
Two thugs posing as police officers knocked on the door and assaulted Matanda in front of his traumatised wife, Cathrine Satande and young brother, Rufaro.
Matanda was dragged outside and bundled into a silver Honda Fit, where his boss of eight years sat waiting in the shadows.
Blindfolded and terrified, he was driven to a secluded swamp where for eight agonizing hours, he was battered with fists and heavy objects.
His captors boasted of high-ranking political connections, chillingly warning: “This is the exact spot where a famous political activist was killed. You are next if you speak!”
After drinking, smoking and torturing their victim, the thugs dumped a broken Matanda by a bridge along New Chitungwiza Road.
Terrified for his life, he fled to Concession before escaping across the border to South Africa.
He only returned in December 2025, but in January, an enforcer named “Cloud” cornered him and warned him to flee again.
Fed up with living like a hunted animal, Matanda bravely walked into a police station on 19 February 2026, leading to Rondozai’s arrest.
Investigators are now scrambling to determine if Rondozai is the same person as “Emmanuel Nicholas T. Rondozai” a director of Aureum Gates private limited facing a separate rental scam involving USD 3 600 from unsuspecting Greendale tenants.
Records show the company wasn’t even legally registered when the money was taken.
Rondozai’s house of cards is crashing down fast. 1 July 2026, promises absolute fireworks.
