Vehicles, office furniture and broadcasting equipment belonging to Nkululeko Rusununguko Television (NRTV) are set to be auctioned after the broadcaster allegedly failed to pay more than US$278,000 in outstanding salaries owed to 70 employees.
The planned sale follows a long-running labour dispute over wages that accumulated between December 2024 and September 2025.
An arbitrator ruled in November 2025 that NRTV should pay its former and current employees a total of US$278,479.88 in unpaid wages.
However, after the broadcaster reportedly failed to honour the award, the workers approached the High Court to have the ruling enforced.
The arbitral award was subsequently registered as a High Court order in June 2026, allowing the employees to pursue recovery through the attachment and sale of NRTV’s movable assets.
The Sheriff of the High Court was instructed to recover the outstanding amount, together with the applicable legal and execution costs.
According to an auction notice issued by KM Auctions on behalf of the Sheriff, the attached property will be sold to the highest bidders on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Among the vehicles listed for sale are a Nissan NV350, Mercedes-Benz C200, three Toyota Aqua cars, a Toyota minibus and a vehicle described in the notice as a Toyota Legend.
The auction will also include a range of office and broadcasting-related equipment.
These include television sets, desktop computers, printers, a photocopier, office desks, numerous chairs, sofas, refrigerators, a deep freezer, water dispensers, gas tanks and a gas stove.
A large yellow generator will be sold separately at NRTV’s premises at 29 Argyll Drive, Newlands, Harare, starting at 10am.
The vehicles and other movable assets will then go under the hammer from 11am at KM Auctions at No. 1 Robert Mugabe Road, Eastlea.
Interested bidders are required to pay refundable deposits of US$1,000 for vehicles and US$500 for other goods, subject to the auction’s conditions.
Payment for successful bids is required in cash at the conclusion of the sale.
The auction marks a significant development in the employees’ efforts to recover salaries they say remained unpaid for several months, with the broadcaster’s movable assets now being used to enforce the court-backed award.
