Read E-PaperIn a solidarity message, CZR president Cde Denford Mutashu said the business constituency he represents unequivocally supports the President, citing leadership continuity and policy consistency as the pillars of Vision 2030.
“Your Excellency, allow me to state our position categorically. The Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers and the business constituency we represent unequivocally support you, Cde. Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa, to continue ruling Zimbabwe up to 2030 and beyond,” he said.
“And we repeat-2030 and beyond Machingotonga Shumba Murambwi!”
Cde Mutashu said the retailers’ stance was anchored on “leadership continuity, policy consistency and the consolidation of the National Development Agenda,” revealing that the sector had from the onset publicly endorsed Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 – now Act No. 3.
He credited the Government with creating a stable business environment, pointing to 8.29 percent real economic growth in 2025 and a manufacturing boom that has seen local products dominate shop shelves.
“Locally manufactured products now account for over 90 percent of the products on our shelves.
“This is a powerful indicator of a manufacturing boom, strengthening domestic production, creating market opportunities and supporting employment,” said Cde Mutashu.
“This progress can only be accelerated under your visionary leadership!”
He praised SI 41 of 2026 on model fees by-laws, which he said had delivered savings of up to 60 percent in regulatory costs, and hailed SI 59 of 2026 as “a bold and necessary intervention toward protecting and revitalizing local industry.”
“As retailers and wholesalers, we remain committed to strengthening partnerships with local manufacturers and farmers, expanding markets for Zimbabwean products and supporting competitive domestic supply chains,” he said.
Cde Mutashu also pledged the sector’s readiness to work with Government to formalise the informal sector and create opportunities for SMEs.
He closed with a rallying cry: “PAMBERI NEZANU PF! 2030 And Beyond!!!! PASI NEMHANDU! Long live the leadership of His Excellency, Cde. Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa!”
The endorsement comes as the ruling party consolidates support for the President’s continued leadership ahead of Vision 2030.
