Scott Sakupwanya Boosts Mbare Grassroots Football

Businessman and politician Honourable Scott Sakupwanya has pledged to support Mbare-based Real Stars Academy with resources aimed at improving the development of young footballers.

The pledge followed a meeting between Sakupwanya, academy coach Stanley Kavayi and the players, during which he reportedly spent close to two hours learning about the academy’s programmes and work with the boys.

Coach Kavayi described Sakupwanya as a humble and inspiring leader who is committed to helping young people and developing their sporting abilities.

As part of the support, Sakupwanya reportedly promised to provide the academy with a team bus, football kits, balls and podcast equipment to assist its operations. The resources are expected to improve the training environment and provide the young players with better opportunities to grow their football careers.

Sakupwanya also reportedly gave each player US$1,000, while Kavayi received US$2,000 in recognition of his efforts in guiding the team.

The financial contribution, together with the promised equipment, is expected to give the grassroots academy a major boost as it continues using football to empower young people in Mbare.

Expressing his appreciation, Kavayi said the academy was deeply grateful for the support and thanked Sakupwanya for believing in its vision.

He said the gesture could make a lasting difference in the lives of the players and help strengthen grassroots football development in the community.
