Tagwirei spoke out amid a growing presence of journalists, bloggers and content creators at the funeral, with many capturing images and videos of the proceedings.
He urged those attending the funeral to allow grieving families and friends to mourn without turning the occasion into a source of online content.
“Some people are looking for content where others are mourning. Let those of us who are grieving mourn. Those looking for content must start looking for money,” Tagwirei said.
He also appealed to people to avoid revisiting past disagreements or debates surrounding the late businessman during the mourning period.
“Don’t remind us who was wrong or right. Just let us mourn,” he added.
Chivayo and his wife, Lucy Muteke, died in a helicopter crash in Marondera last week, alongside three other people.
Their funeral has attracted widespread public attention, with mourners, friends, business associates and members of the public gathering to pay their respects.
