Asian National Nabbed with 34.6 Grammes of Gold

Alert police detectives at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport intercepted an Asian national attempting to smuggle over 30 grammes of gold out of the country.

National Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed that the suspect was arrested on 8 September 2025.

“Detectives from the MFFU, Harare, arrested a foreign national, Fan Luping (39), for possessing 34.6 grammes of gold without a permit. He was apprehended while attempting to check out at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport,” said Commissioner Nyathi.

In an unrelated case, on 7 September 2025, ZRP Beatrice arrested four individuals at Charlestone Farm, Beatrice.

“The suspects are Ji Zhonghou (65), Tizora Arufayi (44), Christopher Mudenge (46), and Lovemore Mafukeni (31). They were arrested in connection with the unlawful possession of 1,040 kilogrammes of aluminium electric cables,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
