Scottland FC president Scott Sakupwanya has given Simba Bhora a massive boost ahead of their CAF Champions League preliminary round clash with Eswatini’s Nsingizini FC, donating US$100,000 to the Shamva-based club.

Simba Bhora will host the first leg at Obed Itai Chilume Stadium this Sunday before travelling to Eswatini for the return fixture next week. This marks the club’s first appearance in the CAF Champions League after an impressive domestic campaign in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Speaking on Tuesday, Scott Sakupwanya said he wanted to support the team as they represent Zimbabwe on the continental stage. He also pledged to pay the players’ winning bonuses should they advance to the second round of Africa’s premier club competition.

“This is a historic moment for Simba Bhora,” Sakupwanya said. “I believe this contribution will help the players focus on the game and deliver their best performance.”

MWOS FC have also joined the effort, donating two buses to transport fans to the first-leg match in Francistown, Botswana. The gesture will ensure Simba Bhora have vocal support in the stands, creating a lively and motivating atmosphere for the team.

Simba Bhora Midfielder welcomed the gesture: “It’s amazing to have people like Mr. Sakupwanya and MWOS FC supporting us. We feel appreciated and motivated to make Zimbabwe proud.”
