Bosso Era Kicks Off: Thabo Senong Arrives in Bulawayo

Newly appointed Highlanders FC head coach Thabo SenongThabo Senong has officially arrived in Bulawayo, landing at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport this afternoon to begin his tenure at Zimbabwe’s oldest football club.

Senong was greeted by Highlanders chief executive officer Denzel Mnkandla and assistant coach Mkhokheli Dube, who recently returned to the club as part of the revamped technical team.

The arrival of the experienced South African coach has sparked excitement among Highlanders supporters, following the club’s announcement of his appointment, which many see as a strong statement of ambition ahead of the upcoming season.

Senong brings extensive coaching experience, having worked with the South African senior and Under-20 national teams, led the Lesotho senior men’s national side, and achieved success in youth football, including winning the 2013 COSAFA Under-20 Cup.

Renowned for his emphasis on tactical discipline, fitness, and youth development, Senong’s approach aligns closely with Highlanders’ long-term philosophy and vision.

Assistant coach Dube, a former Bosso player, is expected to help maintain continuity and reinforce the club’s culture and identity within the squad.

Highlanders plan to officially introduce Senong to players and supporters in the coming days, with announcements on additional coaching staff and player signings expected soon.
