A light aircraft carrying six occupants crashed in the Marondera Rural area at approximately 1700 hours this evening, the Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed.

Read E-PaperNational Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said emergency services were at the scene and that further information would be released as the investigation unfolds.
“The ZRP confirms a plane crash in Marondera Rural area at 1700 hours, this evening. The aircraft had 6 occupants. More details will be released in due course as the scene is currently being attended,” he said.
The identities of those on board, their condition, and the aircraft’s origin and destination were not immediately available.
