Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has received two major accolades at the 2026 Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, underscoring the company’s growing contribution to the country’s digital transformation agenda.
The telecommunications and technology group was named Best ICT Exhibitor and also won the Best AI Adoption in Agriculture award after showcasing how artificial intelligence and digital services are being applied to support farmers, businesses and consumers.
Econet’s exhibition presented its operations as an interconnected digital ecosystem, bringing together services in telecommunications, financial technology, insurance, agricultural technology and artificial intelligence. Among the brands on display were Econet AI, EcoCash, EcoSure, Moovah, EcoFarmerAI, Buddie, Buddie Beatz, Econet InfraCo, MARS and RemitHope.
Particular attention was drawn to the company’s dedicated AI pod, which highlighted Econet’s expanding artificial intelligence capabilities and its partnership with Google Gemini. The showcase also featured EcoFarmerAI, a digital platform designed to give farmers access to information and tools that can strengthen decision-making, improve productivity and support more efficient agricultural operations.
Held under the theme “Powering Growth: Where Agriculture, Technology and Commerce Converge,” this year’s agricultural show demonstrated the increasingly important relationship between technology and economic development. Digital solutions are playing a broader role in improving farm productivity, widening access to financial services and connecting producers to markets.
The recognition comes as Econet continues to introduce artificial intelligence across several areas of its business, including customer support, network management, internal operations, product development and agriculture. The company’s focus on farming is particularly significant given the sector’s central role in Zimbabwe’s economy and livelihoods.
Through the awards, Econet’s exhibition has been recognised not only for its presentation, but also for illustrating how locally deployed technology can help address practical challenges and create new opportunities across Zimbabwe’s agricultural and commercial sectors.
