Zimbabwean mobility startup Kose is partnering with Unplugged to provide discounted transport for festivalgoers, with the first 2,000 riders eligible for 50% off trips to and from the event.
Kose has been announced as the exclusive mobility partner for Unplugged, extending its ride-hailing service beyond everyday travel and into one of the country’s major live-event experiences. The partnership will allow festivalgoers to receive 50% off every Kose trip to or from Unplugged, up to a maximum saving of US$3 per trip.
The offer applies on Saturday, 29 August 2026, when Unplugged will be held at First Capital Bank Sports Club from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. According to the event’s announcement, the promotion is limited to the first 2,000 riders, making early booking important for attendees who want to benefit from the discount.
A dedicated Kose pick-up and drop-off zone will also operate at the festival venue. The arrangement is intended to simplify arrivals and departures by giving riders a clearly designated area to connect with their drivers before and after the event.
The partnership comes as Kose expands its presence in Harare. The company’s official website describes it as a local platform for rides, parcel delivery, food delivery and shopping, with features including upfront fare information, driver and vehicle details, trip tracking and in-app safety tools. Independent technology publication Techzim reported earlier this month that Kose launched as a Zimbabwean super-app startup after initially focusing on ride-hailing and delivery services.
While the company’s public professional profile describes Tirivashe Mundondo as its founder and technical architect. His role in the Unplugged announcement places the company’s leadership directly behind the festival partnership, as Kose seeks to build local adoption through high-visibility, practical use cases.
The Unplugged promotion also reflects Kose’s broader emphasis on making movement around Harare more transparent and convenient. The company says its ride service enables users to review fare information, identify their matched driver and vehicle, and follow the journey from pick-up to arrival.
For festivalgoers, the immediate benefit is straightforward: a lower-cost option for travelling to the venue and returning home after the event. With the discount capped at US$3 per trip and restricted to the first 2,000 riders, attendees will need to use Kose early to secure the offer.
