FC Hunters staged a remarkable comeback at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday, recovering from two goals down to eliminate Caps United on penalties and reach the semi-finals of the ZIFA Munhumutapa Challenge Cup.

Hunters responded strongly after the restart, with Terrence Dzvukamanja pulling a goal back in the 76th minute to give his side hope of completing the comeback.
The momentum shifted further in stoppage time when Ronald Pfumbidzai found the equaliser, forcing the quarter-final into a penalty shootout after the match ended 2-2.
Hunters held their nerve from the spot, winning the shootout 3-1 to book their place in the semi-finals.
Reflecting on the comeback, Hunters coach Saruchera praised his young squad for their second-half response and hard work.
“Coming back from 2-0 down, we had a very, very good second half. As you can see, we have got a lot of young boys there. They are working hard. I am here to help them,” Saruchera said.
“I feel good, especially I can say I’m working hard and playing the young kids. Most of them are under 23 and I’m just hoping one day they’re also going to represent Zimbabwe,” he added.
The result completed a dramatic turnaround for Vavhimi, who looked destined for elimination before producing a spirited second-half fightback.
Caps United coach Takesure Chiragwi admitted that his side had done what was required before conceding after a brief lapse.
“We did what we were supposed to do but we just slipped for some seconds,” Chiragwi said.
FC Hunters now advance to the semi-finals, with their impressive comeback keeping their hopes of lifting the Munhumutapa Challenge Cup alive.
