Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) leadership has visited the Mighty Warriors camp in Harare as the national women’s team intensifies preparations for their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying tie against Malawi.

The visit was aimed at encouraging the team ahead of a crucial two-legged second-round Olympic qualifier against Malawi.
Zimbabwe will travel to Lilongwe for the first leg at Bingu Stadium on October 9 before hosting the return leg at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on October 13.
The tie will be Gotal’s first major competitive assignment since taking charge of the Mighty Warriors, with the coach overseeing a rebuilding process that has brought together experienced players and new faces.
Gotal has previously stressed the importance of unity within the squad as Zimbabwe prepare for the two matches.
The Mighty Warriors are seeking a return to the Olympic Games after Zimbabwe’s only previous appearance at the tournament came at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The first leg in Malawi is scheduled for October 9, with the decisive return leg set for October 13 at the refurbished National Sports Stadium.
