A fourth-year Psychology student at Midlands State University (MSU) was allegedly shot dead at a boarding house in Gweru on Thursday in an incident involving her former husband.

The suspect, reportedly a director of a security company based in Bulawayo, is said to have arrived at the premises at approximately 3pm.
According to preliminary reports, gunshots rang out about two hours later, prompting other residents to leave their rooms and investigate the disturbance.
The suspect allegedly emerged carrying a revolver before forcing the occupants into one room, where he reportedly took away their mobile phones.
One of the residents is said to have found a way to alert the caretaker, who subsequently notified the police.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed the incident and said investigations are ongoing.
