Musona Reveals Long-Standing Partnership With Billiat

Knowledge Musona says his on-field understanding with Scottland FC teammate Khama Billiat was built over many years, dating back to their school days.

The Zimbabwean forwards were both on target as Scottland secured a 2-0 victory over Angolan giants Petro de Luanda in the first leg of their CAF Champions League second preliminary-round tie in Harare last weekend.

Billiat also set up Musona’s goal, highlighting the connection between the two attackers as Scottland seek to reach the group stage of the competition in their debut campaign.

Speaking to Herald Online, Musona explained that their partnership is based on years of playing together and an understanding that requires little communication on the pitch.

He said their familiarity allows them to anticipate each other’s movements and recognise where a teammate expects the ball.

Musona believes Scottland have put themselves in a strong position ahead of Friday’s return leg in Angola, but warned that the team must remain focused despite their two-goal advantage.

He said the Zimbabwean side would need to remain organised defensively and look for another goal, noting that they were still unfamiliar with Petro de Luanda’s approach on their home ground.

A positive result in Angola would move Scottland closer to securing a place in the CAF Champions League group stage.
