President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called for a more inclusive international system in which dialogue and peaceful engagement take precedence over conflict.

Speaking at the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York, Mnangagwa said sustainable peace was closely linked to economic development and urged greater access to affordable financing for developing countries.
He said African and other developing nations needed a stronger voice in international decision-making.
“The voice of developing nations must be strengthened in global decision-making. Zimbabwe would continue advancing the African Agenda at the UN Security Council, including Africa’s call for permanent representation in line with the Ezulwini Consensus,” he said.

The Ezulwini Consensus advocates for greater African representation on the UN Security Council, including permanent seats with the same rights and privileges as the current permanent members.
“Zimbabwe would pursue Africa’s interests while remaining engaged with wider global challenges,” President Mnangagwa said.
The President’s address focused on peace, development, fair access to international financing and increased African representation in global institutions.
