Zimbabwe’s emerging generation of entrepreneurs, innovators, creatives and community leaders is set to take centre stage this weekend as the inaugural Zimbabwe Young Achievers Awards prepare to make their debut.
The awards ceremony, organized by UK-registered charity Ekhaya Skills Centre, will be held at the Hyatt Regency Harare on Saturday, 15 August 2026, bringing together young achievers and influential figures from across business, government, diplomacy and the corporate sector.
With preparations now entering their final stage, organisers say the event is shaping up to be more than a conventional awards ceremony, with the gala intended to create a platform where young Zimbabweans can connect with potential investors, mentors, corporate partners and other leaders.
The ceremony will run from 6pm to 11pm and feature a three-course dinner, entertainment and a red-carpet reception before the presentation of honours across 10 categories.
The categories recognize achievements in areas including business, agriculture, technology, education, arts, sport and community leadership, reflecting the diverse ways in which young Zimbabweans are contributing to national development.
Organisers say the inaugural edition is particularly significant because it establishes a platform dedicated to recognizing young Zimbabweans on home soil, while creating opportunities for their achievements to be celebrated alongside those of established institutions and leaders.
The event has attracted support from inaugural sponsors including Jan Paul, Eaglemat Insurance, Mudhumeni Mukuru, Ngoto Native Urban Brew Premium Lager and MTM Fleet Maintenance.
Their involvement, organisers said, has helped strengthen the foundation for an awards platform they hope will grow into an annual national fixture.
Beyond the recognition of winners, the awards are expected to provide an important meeting point for Zimbabwe’s youth economy, with entrepreneurs, investors, corporate executives and emerging professionals set to share the same space.
The organisers have also maintained an open invitation to members of the media, with opportunities for interviews before and during the ceremony to highlight the experiences of finalists, winners, sponsors and other participants.
Tickets are still available, with individual entry set at US$55, a half table for five guests costing US$260 and a full corporate table for 10 priced at US$500.
With seating at the Hyatt Regency Harare limited, prospective guests and corporate representatives have been encouraged to secure their places ahead of Saturday’s ceremony.
As Zimbabwe prepares to witness the first edition of the Young Achievers Awards, the event is positioning itself as a celebration not only of success, but also of ambition, innovation and the growing influence of young people in shaping the country’s future.
