Information received by this publication alleges that Nandipha N Moyo, reportedly living in Poland, and her boyfriend, identified as Tanaka, gave the traveller the parcel before her planned departure.

The traveller, whose identity has been withheld for privacy reasons, allegedly discovered the suspicious contents before boarding her flight, potentially averting a serious predicament at her destination.

Photographs shared with this publication appear to show several small packets containing a substance suspected to be dagga, also known as mbanje, alongside bottles, jars, and discarded plastic packaging. The source further alleges that one of the juice bottles contained Broncleer cough syrup.

WhatsApp screenshots provided to this publication appear to capture a heated exchange concerning the parcel. The messages reportedly refer to the suspected drugs, arrangements for a replacement air ticket, financial assistance and fears about the possible consequences of the incident.

The matter took another turn when this publication approached Tanaka for comment. He responded: “NO COMMENT.”

He reportedly added that he had not been contacted by the police and threatened legal action against the woman involved in the allegations.

The claims have not been independently verified, and it remains unclear whether the matter has been reported to the authorities or whether any official investigation is under way. The substances allegedly found in the parcel have also not been independently confirmed.

The incident highlights the risks international travellers may face when agreeing to transport packages on behalf of other people. Travellers are advised to establish the contents of any parcel before accepting responsibility for carrying it across borders, as the discovery of prohibited substances can lead to serious legal complications.
