Zimbabwe and the Kingdom of Eswatini have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, expanding trade, and unlocking new investment opportunities following high-level discussions held at State House on Tuesday.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa hosted Prince Lindani Dlamini of Eswatini and his delegation, with both sides focusing on enhancing economic cooperation and advancing regional integration.

Speaking after the meeting, President Mnangagwa said the engagement had reinforced the strong ties that have long existed between the two nations.

“This afternoon, I had the pleasure of hosting Prince Lindani Dlamini of the Kingdom of Eswatini and his delegation at State House, where we reinforced the robust historical, fraternal, and cultural ties that unite Zimbabwe and Eswatini,” he said.

The President said discussions centred on strengthening economic relations through increased trade, investment and industrial collaboration.

“Our discussions focused on enhancing bilateral trade, identifying new investment prospects, and promoting industrial partnerships to stimulate economic growth,” President Mnangagwa said.

He added that Zimbabwe and Eswatini remain committed to working together in promoting regional stability and economic development within the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

“We underscored our mutual commitment to regional integration, peace, and sustainable economic development within the Southern African Development Community region,” he said.

President Mnangagwa noted that both countries share common development goals aimed at improving the welfare of their citizens and creating opportunities for future generations.

“Our strategic priorities encompass strengthening cooperation to improve the lives of our citizens, unlocking new economic opportunities for youth empowerment and industrial innovation, and advancing together towards a more integrated and prosperous continent,” he said.

The meeting comes as Zimbabwe continues to strengthen economic diplomacy with regional partners, leveraging bilateral cooperation to drive industrialisation, attract investment and create employment opportunities.
