Addressing the 398th Ordinary Session of the ZANU-PF Politburo, Cde Mnangagwa said the party must focus on implementing its decisions and improving the lives of Zimbabweans rather than merely adopting resolutions.

The meeting reviewed preparations for the conference and considered the Central Committee Report ahead of the gathering.

President Mnangagwa called on committee chairs to draw from the collective experience and views of delegates, emphasising the need for democratic participation and practical outcomes.

“Every deliberation must enhance intra-party democracy and positively impact the quality of life for all Zimbabweans,” he said.

The president also praised the party’s departments for what he described as progress in their administrative performance during the 2025/2026 period.

He said policy oversight and engagement with stakeholders remained important in driving reforms and addressing gaps in the party’s operations.

“Through policy oversight and stakeholder engagement, we continue to drive reforms and foster real-time gap closing with a singular unity of purpose,” he said.

He also expressed gratitude to the Organising Committee, the Resource Mobilisation Sub-Committee, donors and other supporters who contributed to the Presidential Fundraising Dinner Ball held in Harare.

The President said their contributions were helping strengthen the party’s organisational structures and capacity.

Turning to the implementation of party resolutions, President Mnangagwa called for stronger oversight to ensure that decisions adopted by ZANU PF produce meaningful results in line with the country’s development priorities.

“Success is in the DNA of ZANU PF,” he said.

“Our responsibility does not end with passing resolutions. We must provide bold oversight to ensure full, impactful implementation guided strictly by our national interests as we march towards Vision 2030,” he added.

The 23rd ZANU PF National People’s Conference is expected to provide a platform for party leaders and delegates to review progress, discuss policy priorities and map out strategies for implementing party resolutions.

The emphasis on implementation comes as the ruling party continues to position its programmes around Vision 2030, the national target of achieving an upper-middle-income economy.

President Mnangagwa’s remarks placed economic outcomes, internal party participation and accountability in implementing resolutions at the centre of the party’s preparations for the conference.
