Zimplats is providing free sunscreen lotion specially formulated for people with albinism at its stand in the Mining Village during the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show 2026.
The initiative is aimed at helping people with albinism protect their skin from the harmful effects of prolonged exposure to sunlight. Because they have little or no melanin, people with albinism are particularly vulnerable to sunburn, skin damage and other sun-related health complications.
Visitors to the Zimplats stand can collect the specially formulated sunscreen and receive information on the importance of regular sun protection. The lotion is designed to support daily skin-care needs and promote better skin health among people with albinism.
The programme forms part of Zimplats’ broader commitment to community health and sun-safety awareness. By making sunscreen more accessible, the company is helping to address an important health need and encourage people with albinism to take practical steps to protect their skin.
Members of the public are encouraged to visit the Zimplats stand in the Mining Village at ZAS2026 to access the free sunscreen while supplies last.
