Madame Lyu said the initiative reflected the growing cooperation between Zimbabwe and China while highlighting the importance of protecting and supporting people living with albinism.
“The sun-protection products were intended to help reduce the health risks associated with exposure to the sun among people with albinism.

This support initiative for persons with albinism embodies our shared dedication to equality, inclusion, and diversity, reaffirming that every life is worthy of dignity and equal rights,” Madame Lyu said.
She stated that empowering this community to fully engage in public life is our common pursuit toward a warmer, more inclusive society.
Madame Lyu commended the Angel of Hope Foundation and the First Lady for their efforts to promote social inclusion and improve the welfare of vulnerable communities across Zimbabwe.
She said the First Lady had “long championed a culture of compassion and social inclusion across Zimbabwe,” describing her commitment to community welfare as “an inspiring model for equitable social development.”
Madame Lyu said China remained committed to working with Zimbabwe in supporting vulnerable communities and promoting inclusive development.

“China stands ready to continue partnering with the Government of Zimbabwe and organisations including the Angel of Hope Foundation to enable every individual to realise their full potential,” she said.
The initiative comes as Zimbabwe and China continue to strengthen cooperation beyond trade and investment, with social development and community welfare also forming part of their engagement.
For people living with albinism, access to appropriate sun-protection products is particularly important because reduced melanin increases vulnerability to sun damage and skin-related health complications.
