According to Chivayo, the proposed investment will be channelled into various infrastructure development projects across Kenya.
He said the investment plan, which had previously been at the discussion stage, was now beginning to take shape.
“What started as discussions, ideas and possibilities is steadily becoming reality,” Chivayo said.
He said he was looking forward to bringing private capital into projects that could create employment, improve infrastructure and contribute to Kenya’s economic development.
Chivayo also praised Ruto’s leadership, saying his engagements with the Kenyan President had strengthened his confidence in the country as an investment destination.
“Kenya remains one of the most exciting investment destinations in Africa, and I look forward to significantly expanding my business footprint here in the years ahead,” he said.
However, Chivayo did not disclose the specific infrastructure projects targeted by the US$200 million investment or provide details of any agreements reached during the meeting.
The proposed investment would mark a major expansion of Chivayo’s business interests beyond Zimbabwe and into the Kenyan market.
