Popular musician Greatman Gwaze and celebrated singer Chipo Muchengwa are among artistes set to perform at the Zimbabwe National Disability Expo 2026 to be held at Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo from June 24 to 26.
Speaking during the post-Cabinet media briefing, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Soda Zhemu said preparations for the Expo were at an advanced stage, with entertainment forming a key component of the national event.
The Expo, which will run under the theme “Embracing Disability Inclusion in all Sectors: A Master Stroke for National Prosperity and Economic Development,” will be officially opened by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on June 26.
Dr Zhemu said the Disability Expo promotes inclusion and empowerment of persons with disabilities and provides a platform for showcasing talents, abilities and innovations.
“In the spirit of inclusivity and empowerment, 70 percent of the entertainment at the Expos is provided by persons with disabilities,” he said.

The performances by Greatman Gwaze and Chipo Muchengwa are expected to add excitement to the three-day event, which will bring together persons with disabilities, Government ministries, civil society organisations, communities and development partners.
The Expo is expected to attract about 500 exhibitors, with 438 having already paid exhibition fees. International participation has also been confirmed, with exhibitors from India, Eswatini, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Rwanda and Zambia expected to attend.
Apart from entertainment, the event will feature exhibitions, empowerment programmes and side events aimed at promoting disability inclusion and economic participation.
Infrastructure upgrades have already been undertaken at Mucheke Stadium, including the construction of a disability-inclusive ablution block and the refurbishment of volleyball, tennis and basketball courts to improve accessibility.
President Mnangagwa is also expected to donate livestock, residential stands, water pumps, hammer mills and solar equipment to persons with disabilities as part of the Expo’s empowerment initiatives.
Masvingo Province was selected to host the event owing to its rich history in disability rehabilitation and empowerment, including institutions such as Jairos Jiri Training Centre, Copota School for the Blind and Henry Murray School for the Deaf.
The Zimbabwe National Disability Expo is a Government initiative aimed at advancing disability inclusion, empowerment and participation in national development.
