NETONE and Heal Us Zimbabwe are taking the fight against drug and substance abuse directly to communities as their national walkathon enters Day 4.
The ambitious 23-day journey from Beitbridge to Harare has attracted widespread attention as participants walk hundreds of kilometres to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.
The campaign comes at a time when concerns over substance abuse among young people continue to grow.
Through the partnership, NetOne and Heal Us Zimbabwe aim to educate communities, encourage rehabilitation and inspire hope among those affected by addiction.
Day 4 of the walkathon has shown the strength of community support. Residents along the route have joined the campaign by providing refreshments, cheering participants and participating in awareness activities.
NetOne Group Chief Executive Officer Engineer Raphael Mushanawani said the company is committed to being part of the solution to the drug crisis.
He noted that technology and connectivity can be used to educate, rehabilitate and empower communities. By partnering with Heal Us Zimbabwe, NetOne is able to connect directly with the realities faced by young people struggling with addiction.
Heal Us Zimbabwe founder Columbus Tapiwa Mushore has become one of the campaign’s most influential voices.
His own journey from addiction to recovery has inspired many young people and provided proof that change is possible.
The walkathon includes counselling sessions, testimonies from recovering addicts and community dialogues that encourage open discussion about substance abuse.
For many participants, the campaign represents more than a walk. It is a call to action for families, schools, businesses and communities to work together to protect young people from the dangers of drugs.
The partnership between NetOne and Heal Us Zimbabwe demonstrates how organisations can combine resources and experience to address national challenges.
As the walkers continue toward Harare, the campaign is gaining momentum and reaching more communities each day.
Day 4 serves as a reminder that fighting drug abuse requires commitment, compassion and unity. Through their partnership, NetOne and Heal Us Zimbabwe are proving that meaningful change is possible when people work together.
The message remains simple but powerful: say no to drugs, choose life, and build a brighter future for Zimbabwe.
