Police Recover Dagga and Crystal Meth in Separate Harare Drug Operations

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of three suspects in connection with the unlawful possession of dagga, while investigations are ongoing to apprehend another suspect linked to a crystal meth seizure in Harare.

In a statement, police said that on 7 June 2026, officers acted on received information and intercepted a Toyota Vitz vehicle travelling along Simon Mazorodze Road in Harare. The operation resulted in the arrest of Tafadzwa Zhuwao (29), Irvine Manyeza (26), and Tapiwa Zadzagomo (27).

Police recovered approximately 10 kilogrammes of dagga which had been concealed beneath the vehicle’s front seats. The three suspects are expected to face charges related to the unlawful possession and transportation of dangerous drugs.

In a separate incident on the same day, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Drugs and Narcotics Unit in Harare recovered one kilogramme of crystal meth in Ardbennie. The illicit substance had reportedly been hidden in the loading box of a disused truck.

The police said investigations have identified a suspect known only as Abel, who is believed to be connected to the crystal meth consignment. Efforts are currently underway to locate and arrest him.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to combating drug trafficking and substance abuse, which continue to pose a significant threat to public health, safety, and community well-being.

The ZRP has urged members of the public to continue providing information that may assist law enforcement agencies in identifying and apprehending individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.

Police emphasised that community cooperation remains critical in the fight against drug-related crimes across the country.
