The triumph seals the Sunshine Boys’ return to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after four seasons away, rewarding a campaign characterised by resilience on the pitch and stability behind the scenes.

The achievement also reflects the steady leadership of club chairman Simon Muzviyo, who guided the executive committee and club operations as Harare City pursued their Premiership dream.

Unlike campaigns where financial uncertainty can derail a team’s ambitions, Harare City enjoyed stability throughout the season, allowing the club to maintain its operations and keep its attention firmly on football.

That administrative stability provided the foundation for a sustained promotion challenge, with the technical team and players responding by delivering results in a fiercely contested championship race.

Black Rhinos proved formidable title challengers, keeping the pressure on Harare City as the race for the Northern Region crown intensified.

However, the Sunshine Boys held their nerve, maintaining their push for promotion and ensuring they remained firmly in contention when the championship reached its decisive stages.

Their final-day performance against Jumbo Giants demonstrated their determination to finish the job, with three unanswered goals sealing the championship in emphatic fashion.

The result also brought Black Rhinos’ promotion ambitions to an end, leaving Harare City to celebrate their return to the country’s elite football competition.

For a club relegated in 2022, the achievement marks an important turnaround and a new chapter in its football journey.

The challenge now shifts to the Premier Soccer League, where Harare City will be expected to translate their regional dominance into top-flight competitiveness.

With organisational stability providing a strong foundation, the Sunshine Boys will be eager to make their return count and restore their reputation among Zimbabwe’s established football clubs.
