Eswatini’s Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Mandla Tshawuka, and his delegation have visited Precabe Farm in Kwekwe as part of a benchmarking tour aimed at learning from Zimbabwe’s agricultural development initiatives.
The delegation was welcomed to the Midlands Province by Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon. Owen Ncube. The visit was hosted by Agriculture Minister Hon. Dr A.J. Masuka.
As part of the programme, the Eswatini officials toured Precabe Farm and the Kwekwe Grain Marketing Board’s 56,000-tonne automated grain silos, gaining insight into Zimbabwe’s agricultural production, storage and irrigation systems.
Hon. Ncube said the visit demonstrated the growing relationship between Zimbabwe and Eswatini, particularly in agriculture, trade, innovation and economic development.
“The engagement was consistent with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s engagement and re-engagement policy, which seeks to deepen Zimbabwe’s cooperation with other countries,” he said.
The delegation also observed developments in wheat, barley, maize, soya bean and potato production, alongside irrigation projects and livestock farming.
The exchange is expected to strengthen knowledge-sharing between the two countries as they pursue food security, modernised agriculture and rural industrialisation.
