Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah has reportedly been banned from driving in England for six months after a luxury car registered in his name was caught speeding in Cheshire.

Read E-PaperAccording to The Sun, Salah was convicted in his absence by Warrington Magistrates’ Court in August after failing to identify the person who was driving the vehicle when it was recorded by a speed camera in March 2026.
The vehicle was reportedly a Rolls-Royce Spectre, valued at more than €466,000.
Salah also allegedly failed to respond to two notices sent to his home in England asking him to identify the driver.
The court subsequently imposed a six-month driving disqualification and fined him €769, according to the report.
The speeding incident reportedly happened in Wilmslow, Cheshire, shortly after Salah announced his departure from Liverpool.
The case has put the Egyptian forward back in the British headlines despite his football career now continuing in Turkey.
Salah recently attracted attention on the field after scoring a hat-trick for Trabzonspor in a 4-0 victory over Galatasaray.
The forward scored all three goals and also provided an assist, taking his league tally to seven goals for the season, according to the report.
The latest case is not Salah’s first motoring-related incident in England.
In 2022, he was reportedly fined and given three penalty points after being caught speeding while driving a Ferrari F8 Tributo.
He also faced scrutiny in 2018 after being photographed using a mobile phone while driving near Anfield. Police later said there was insufficient evidence to prosecute him over that incident.
The latest court ruling means Salah cannot legally drive in the UK for six months.
The case comes as the Egyptian begins a new chapter in Turkey following his departure from Liverpool, where he became one of the club’s most recognisable players.
The allegations and court proceedings reported above concern the vehicle registered in Salah’s name; the driving disqualification relates to his UK driving privileges.
